APBA Digital Transformation Board Update Q2–Q3 2025 Project Overview The APBA Digital Transformation Project continues to deliver substantial value, modernizing systems and processes to improve member experience, streamline event operations, and enhance scoring processes. In Q2–Q3 we achieved milestones across membership management, event operations, and technical infrastructure. Key Achievements Membership & Data Management Members can update personal & compliance data after registration (physicals, capsule training docs). Added CBF, UIM, and primary category fields to improve data completeness and reporting. Membership Overview improvements provide richer contact, region, and category visibility for staff. Boat & Equipment Management Boat number status (Active / Selected / Reserved) added for clearer visibility. “My Garage” updated to capture motor make and cubic inch displacement; removed unused hull field. Scoring & Event Operations Introduced role-based access for Scorers and Event Creators to reduce errors and tighten permissions. Scorers Dashboard launched — fast lookup of participants, boats, compliance, and payment status. Driver/owner name fields locked on event registration pages to prevent errors during event signup. Operational Reporting Donations Report delivered for finance to simplify reconciliation and audit trails. Ongoing bug fixes have improved system stability and reduced support tickets. Training Milestones Membership Management training – April 16 Financial Reports training – May 7 Event Setup & Operations – June 3 Current Focus The Timing & Scoring project is in final testing with a planned September side-by-side trial. Key technical deliverables include updated Race Management templates and results pages, stopwatch integration, APBA-specific non-score codes, and robust high-points calculation logic. A remaining task is to complete the functionality to import the existing scorer spreadsheet into Trackside Race Management. This import process would accommodate race sites where lack of internet connectivity might hinder scorers from using the Trackside Race Management web interface. Race Management interface: Integrated stopwatch functionality for accurate race timing: Strategic Value These upgrades reduce administrative overhead, increase data fidelity, and speed access to critical race and member data. By modernizing scoring and event workflows, APBA is improving operational resilience, enabling faster decision-making, and delivering a better experience for competitors, officials and staff. Next steps: complete Trackside integration of scorer spreadsheets, finalize September side-by-side tests, collect user feedback during the trial, and schedule rollout for the following season.
